Phong Nha – Ke Bang national park reopens to public

Tourist spots in the World Heritage Site of Phong Nha – Ke Bang are now ready to open to visitors after 10 days halted by storms’ consequenses, the National Park’s management board announced on October 9.

According to Mr. Hoang Tien Dai, Director of the Phong Nha – Ke Bang’s Ecological and Cultural Tourism Center, the re-opening was 5 days sooner than expected, thanks to efforts of local staff and guides to clean the mess. The National Park’s landscape has now been recovered for the most part.

Previously, storms Haitang (No.4), Nesat (No.5) and Nalgae (No.6) resulted in fast rising-water level of Son River and flooded hundreds of houses of Son Trach Commune’s locals and other areas. The Center, where received visitors daily, was also 0.5 meter under water.
